Dr. Zach Aman presenting at the South Korean Industry Workshop

September 6, 2016.  Last week Professor Eric May and Dr. Zachary Aman travelled to Seoul, South Korea to deliver a Gas Processing and Flow Assurance industry workshop. The workshop was held over two days and hosted by Partner Investigator Prof. Yuatek Seo from Seoul University.  Over 40 engineers from the South Korean Oil & Gas Industry attended.  Course content was a mix of practical and theoretical study and also gave insight to research carried out by the Training Centre.

While in South Korea Professor Eric May took the opportunity to visit Training Centre Industry Partners Samsung Heavy Industries and Daewoo Shipping & Marine Engineering to discuss the partnerships and sponsored research projects.

Professor Eric May is the director of the ARC ITTC for LNG Futures and Dr. Zachary Aman is a Chief Investigator in the area of Flow Assurance. The ARC ITTC for LNG Futures is an Australian Research Council Industrial Transformation Training Centre. The Centre has $9M in funding from the ARC and 9 Industry Partners over five years. The LNG research has a strong industry focus and aims to increase growth, productivity and capabilities in this key Australian industry.  The flagship project for the training centre is to establish a micro-scale LNG plant and associated research facility. The world first facility will have training, research and demonstration capabilities.  This will help accelerate the deployment of new technology by demonstrating new processes in a live plant environment.
