PHD CANDIDATE
NMR

I joined the group after graduating with a Masters in Chemistry (MChem(hons)) from the University of Bath, U.K in 2019. My research involves using low field NMR to analyse the separation of water-in-crude oil emulsions.  I am studying the effect of using naturally occurring components of certain crude oil samples to increase the efficacy of demulsification. The aim of this research is to optimise use of these components, which are generally considered a ‘waste product’, as an alternative to current demulsification methods and to elucidate the mechanism by which they facilitate phase separation.

PhD Title: Investigation of novel ‘Binding Resins’ for the demulsification of oilfield emulsions.
