Honours Student & Research Assistant
Thermophysics
Gwen is an Honours student currently completing a Bachelor of Philosophy (Hons) in Chemical Engineering at UWA. She joined the group in 2021 initially as a research assistant. Her current research focuses on the use of microwave cavity resonators for detecting thermophysical properties of cryogenic hydrogen, specifically, its quantum ortho–para composition. The eventual intention of her research is to create a robust, real-time microwave sensor for industrial use in hydrogen liquefaction where accurate measurements of quantum composition are crucial for safe liquid hydrogen storage and transport.
Honours Thesis Title: Microwave resonant cavities for cryogenic hydrogen property detection in laboratory and industrial contexts
