RESEARCH Associate
Paul joined the group in 2015 as a PhD student, prior to which he worked for several years as a geologist with BHP. His thesis research focused on quantifying how much carbon dioxide is trapped in the pores of rocks under capillary forces when it is sequestered into reservoirs. In 2018 he secured a position as a Research Associate and now works on collaborative research initiative with King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia that is focused on enhancing oil and gas recovery in carbonate and tight rock formations. Paul’s research expertise is in the area of reservoir characterisation and has experience in nuclear magnetic resonance, ultrasonics and special core analysis.
