PhD Candidate
Farid Amirkhani is a PhD candidate in Chemical Engineering at The University of Western Australia and joined the Fluid Science and Resources group in 2026. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering. His previous research focused on membrane-based gas separation, particularly CO2/CH4 separation using mixed-matrix membranes. His current PhD research focuses on CO2 mineral carbonation, combining experimental investigation, machine learning, and techno-economic analysis to evaluate and advance pathways for permanent CO2 storage and utilisation.
